Litigation Mastery is excited to announce the launch of Essentials Course Two, the next step in our foundational series designed specifically for plaintiff trial attorneys committed to elevating their litigation practices. Scheduled for October 15-17, 2025, Essentials Course Two builds upon the success and feedback from our inaugural Essentials Course One, diving deeper into advanced litigation strategies with a particular focus on mastery of discovery and depositions.
The course will kick off with a welcoming dinner on Wednesday evening, October 15, setting the stage for two days of intensive, interactive learning. Participants will come prepared with a pending case at the outset of discovery, ready to engage in dynamic small-group discussions and practical exercises.
Thursday’s sessions begin by revisiting our core mission and the values that shape our approach. The morning continues with expert-led workshops on the foundational principles for crafting outstanding written discovery. Topics will include best practices to preserve credibility, strategic use of discovery rules, managing discovery deadlines in Texas and federal courts, and avoiding frivolous objections.
A particular highlight will be exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming discovery practice. Participants will learn practical ways to leverage AI for drafting pleadings, handling discovery related to summary judgments, and responding effectively to spoliation claims. Small-group sessions will allow attendees to collaboratively map out their personalized discovery strategies with direct support from experienced faculty.
Afternoon sessions on Thursday will provide a deeper dive into sophisticated Early Case Assessment (ECA) techniques for written discovery, featuring practical insights on expert consultation, drafting specialized discovery requests, motion practice, privilege management, and integrating AI tools for maximum efficiency. Ethical considerations in written discovery will also be discussed, guided by insights from the bench.
Friday will shift focus to taking winning depositions. Beginning with an overview of deposition rules, strategy, and philosophy, attendees will progress into advanced planning for deposition sequences, taking effective admission-seeking, corporate representative, apex, and expert depositions. Practical applications of AI in deposition preparation, execution, and analysis will be featured prominently.
Throughout Essentials Course Two, interactive workshops will provide personalized guidance, allowing participants to tailor sophisticated litigation techniques to their active cases. Faculty and peers will collaboratively refine strategies, ensuring practical implementation and immediate value.
The course will conclude by emphasizing the importance of community and continuous learning, outlining next steps and opportunities to stay connected and ahead of the curve in plaintiff litigation.
